Competition Barbecue – Page 3

Lanny has been building an innovative cooker for a few years, and wanted me to field test one. Give him some feedback, suggest some improvements, that sort of thing. (Read about Lanny’s work here )
Lanny brought one of his early Patio models to my place, gave me some quick instructions, and left it with me.
Over the next few months, I practiced. And practiced and practiced and practiced. I found this little cooker turned out some really tasty barbecue. I was not sure about toting it to a contest, though, mostly because I’m reluctant to change what’s been a pretty good thing, and partly because the cooker is really heavy. It takes me and a couple stout buddies to load and unload it from my pickup.
We decided the hometown contest would be perfect to try out the LannyQ cooker, since it was right in town, and I’d have no trouble getting help to move it.
